Why Dogs Bark and When to Get an Electric Dog Collar
Before you go out and get an electric dog collar or electric fence dog collar for yourself, there are a few things that you should know.

Dog Recreation
First and foremost you should be aware of the reasons why dogs bark to begin with and just why your dog may have a serious problem with it.
Why Dogs Bark
Dogs bark for a couple of different reasons. For one, they bark because they are scared and this is one of the most common reasons. They will bark if they hear someone at the door late at night, or if they are sleeping and are awoken by a loud noise.
Maybe you have trained your dog to bark at loud noises and to protect the house and if so then you probably won’t have a problem with this. Most homeowners do have an issue with this, which is when you would want to do something about it.
Dogs use barking as their form of vocal communication, just as babies use crying. The smaller sized dogs tend to yip more while larger sized dogs will howl. Growing can occur in very different activities and can be just as frustrating, especially if you have young children in the home who may be frightened by it.
Barking is a mode of communication in dogs that seems to be more common in certain breeds of dogs than others. Studies have been done in fact to determine which dogs are more likely to be barkers, and although there was no difference in the percentage of excessive barkers between males and females, there was a breed difference.
Beagles, Terriers, and some herding breeds tend to bark more, and excessive barking can occur in purebred dogs just as much as it can in mixed breeds, which is a fact that not many people are aware of.
When to Get an Electric Dog Collar
There are times when you are going to want to get a bit of electric dog collar. If you find that your dog is barking more than you would like him to and causing problems in your life in general, you are going to need to do something about it, and the electric dog collar may be just what you need.
Do not be worried that the electric dog collar is going to harm the dog, because studies have proven that they in fact do not.
